Prevention Educator Orientation

Welcome to the amazing team of MECASA Preventionists!

As a coalition, we work hard to make sure preventionists across the state have the needed guidance and resources to do effective prevention work. MECASA receives grant funding in order to provide preventionists with technical assistance to best do their work. To fulfill our grant responsibilities, and to make sure preventionists across the state have the same framework we ask the you complete each of the bulleted items within the first 90 days of hire:
  • Primary Prevention Primer—15 minutes
    National Sexual Violence Resource Center

  • Principles of Prevention—75-90 minutes
Center for Disease Control and Prevention

  • Review MECASA’s Primary Prevention booklet

  • Review MECASA’s Prevention Learning Objective & Outcomes

  • Review MECASA’s Key Concepts Rationale documents

  • Review MECASA’s online Prevention Education Toolkit
Once you have completed the above steps, please reach out to Prevention Coordinator, Katie MacDonald, to schedule a one-on-one meeting (within 6 months of hire). This meeting will serve as an opportunity to get to know each other, to review the above materials, to answer any questions you may have, and to welcome you to the MECASA family!
